Gran Reserva Etiqueta Azul is a blend of varieties, but it's also a blend of soils at Tarapacá's Fundo El Rosario estate in the Maipo Valley: the stony soils of cabernet sauvignon (75% of the total volume), gravel and clays of the cabernet franc and malbec (which together make up 15%), and the clay of the syrah, which completes this blend. The result is a red with firm, sharp tannins surrounded by ripe red and a bit of black fruit, along with light floral touches. The body is powerful, but not aggressive—just full of fruity flavors that energetically spread throughout the mouth.
